2 years ago, Studio Gonzo released Gankutsuou, an anime adaptation for the Count of Monte Cristo, with its tight weaved story telling and unique art style, Gankutsuou was the favorite of many fans.

10 weeks ago, Gonzo puts out another long told stories of western literature, perhaps one of the most famous love stories ever told.



Romeo and Juliet roughly follows the original Shakespeare script with its characters, but with a new fantasy world and a brand new style of hatred brewing between the Montegues and the Capulets.

The Romeo and Juliet OP was definately one of my favorates among the Spring season.

While I don't believe the series will garner much attention from the Anime community, nor will this Gonzo budget (think Microsoft, but Anime...) production retell the well known story of Romeo and Juliet particularly well.

But the vibrant characters and the overflowing love in the series will be well worth your time taking a simple look.
